A school community based upon confidence and learning
A Danish efterskole is a unique independent residential school for students between 14 and 18 years old. You pay a school fee and live at the school from August to June.
Dejbjerglund is an efterskole with 142 students – equally divided between boys and girls.
We focus on traditional subjects and sports. Our days are filled with maths, science, Danish, German, English, gymnastics, dance, tumbling, handball and soccer. We prioritize sports and traditional school subjects equally, because we believe that after learning in the classroom you need exercise and exercise gives you energy for learning.
At Dejbjerglund Efterskole learning is taking place in a safe environment, where you can be you. You are having a daily routine with 142 friends, so it’s essential to learn to respect each other. The key words ’motivation’ and ’enjoyment’ are important to us. At Dejbjerglund Efterskole you learn for life and you make friends for life.
All our subjects are taught in Danish, like Danish is our daily language, so you must understand and speak Danish. Please contact our headmaster Kjeld Christiansen for further information.

You live and learn
When you are a student at Dejbjerglund Efterskole your daily life is at the school. You are together with your new friends 24/7. You make friends for life and we are all your new family for a year.
You are accommodated in rooms of four or five people and you help to run the house by taking part in cleaning and have tasks in the kitchen.
Weekends are special at Dejbjerglund. You may visit your own family on weekends, but we experience a lot of students choosing to stay. Here the programme is more spontaneous and we have time to do other things. Throughout the year there are a few weekends where you must stay at the school.
